Modern Slavery and Ethical Conduct Statement
Waste Removal Mayfair is committed to operating with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights across all areas of our business. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our own operations and throughout our supply chains. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to identify, prevent, and address risks related to forced labour, servitude, and exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery
We have a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all directors, employees, agency staff, contractors, and suppliers engaged by Waste Removal Mayfair. We do not tolerate any form of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, child labour, or any practice that denies individuals their freedom or fair treatment.
All employees are required to adhere to our ethical standards and to act in a manner that supports the elimination of modern slavery. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Where suppliers or contractors are found to be in breach, we will take appropriate steps that may include suspension or termination of our relationship with them.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes waste collection partners, recycling and disposal facilities, equipment providers, transport services, and other business support services. We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and who demonstrate respect for human rights and labour standards.
We communicate our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery to all key suppliers and expect them to adhere to relevant labour and human rights legislation. We conduct risk-based assessments of our supply chain, taking into account geographic location, industry sector, and the nature of services provided.
Where higher risk is identified, we may carry out more detailed due diligence and supplier audits. These audits may include on-site visits, requests for evidence of labour practices, verification of worker documentation, and discussions with management about their approach to preventing modern slavery. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with these checks and to implement corrective actions where required.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
We aim to foster a culture where concerns about unethical behaviour, including modern slavery, can be raised without fear of retaliation. All staff are encouraged to be vigilant and to report any concerns about potential exploitation or breaches of our ethical standards.
Employees can raise concerns directly with their line manager, a senior manager, or via our designated reporting contact within the company. Concerns can be raised confidentially and will be treated seriously and sensitively. We are committed to investigating all reports promptly and thoroughly, and to taking appropriate remedial action where necessary.
No employee will suffer detriment for reporting a concern in good faith. We also encourage our suppliers and contractors to adopt similar mechanisms that enable their workers to speak up safely.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Waste Removal Mayfair is committed to continuously improving our processes to better identify and address modern slavery risks in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement and our associated policies are reviewed annually by senior management to ensure they remain effective and up to date with evolving legislation, best practice guidance, and the realities of our business activities. We consider feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders as part of this review.
Where opportunities for improvement are identified, we will update our procedures, training, and supplier management processes accordingly. By maintaining a robust and evolving approach, we aim to contribute to the wider effort to eliminate modern slavery and uphold the dignity and rights of every individual connected to our business.
